Production Lead Time and Logistics

OEM hardware lead time should be separated into product approval, material preparation, fabrication, finishing, inspection, packing and shipment preparation. Combining these into one number hides the decisions that buyers need to control.

Factors that change production timing

New tooling, non-standard material, custom color, complex welding, multiple components, retail packaging and order quantity can extend the schedule. Buyer response time also matters: unresolved drawings, sample changes or late artwork can stop the next stage.

A practical planning sequence

For suitable small-batch projects, samples are commonly planned around 5–7 days and bulk production around 4–6 weeks after confirmation. These are planning references only. The actual quotation should identify what must be approved before timing is committed.

Connect production to logistics
